Lucy K. Hable, 99, of Chippewa Falls, WI, and formerly of Bloomer, WI, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at her daughter’s home in Chippewa Falls while under the care of Heartland Hospice.
She was born May 26, 1917, in the Town of Bloomer, WI, the daughter of Jacob and Theresa (Sarauer) Schwab. Lucy attended school in Brush Prairie. On April 12, 1937, Lucy married Louis Hable at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer.
Lucy’s main interest in her life was her family. She loved to cook and was a wonderful homemaker for her family. Her hobbies included fishing, playing cards, and gardening.
Lucy is survived by her daughter, Arlene (Jim Tannler) Zwiefelhofer of Chippewa Falls; two sons, Paul (Carol) Hable and Larry (Barb) Hable, both of Bloomer; daughter-in-law, Betty Hable of Bloomer; 13 grandchildren, Bruce, Brian, Jeanne, Nancy, Sonja, Jeff, Linda, Debbie, Diana, Wayne, Kris, Toby, and Brock; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her son, Arnold; grandson, Michael Hable; and great-grandson, Zachary Govednik.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer with Fr. John Potaczek celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, May 21, and again from 12-12:30 p.m. Monday at Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home in Bloomer. There will be a Christian Vigil service held at 6:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
