Harold Anderson

Harold L. “Andy” Anderson, 92, of Eau Claire died on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Heatherwood Assisted Living in Eau Claire.

Andy was born on May 15, 1924 to James and Iva (Joy) Anderson in Aleppo, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Cameron, West Virginia and enlisted in the Army at age 17.

He met his wife Shirlee when he was stationed at the University of Minnesota. Andy and Shirlee owned the Sterling Motel in Red Wing, Minnesota from 1968 until Shirlee’s death in 1979. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing and bowling.

He is survived by his two children, Kent (Maggie) Anderson and Kim Nelson; two grandsons: Matthew (Tracy) and Benjamin (Katie); and loving companion, Marcie Hueser.

He is preceded in death by his wife Shirlee Anderson, second ex-wife, Shirley Shultz, parents and sister, Eileen.

A private burial will be held in Red Wing, MN at Oakwood Cemetery.
