GOLF FUNDRAISER: The Justin Schaller Memorial Scramble Golf Tournament will be Friday at Hickory Hills Golf Course, E4080 Hickory Road.

Check in is at 4 p.m. and golfers will tee off at 5 p.m. A dinner will be served at 7 p.m.

The cost is $20 for nine holes of golf and $20 for dinner.

The event includes prizes and music.

All proceeds will help Schaller’s family.

EAGLE SCOUT: Nathan Bronstad of Troop 107 has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the Boy Scouts’ highest honor.

Bronstad, 18, is the son of Dale and Michelle Bronstad. He graduated from North High School this spring and will attend UW-La Crosse this fall to study biochemistry. His career goal is to become an anesthesiologist.

For his Eagle Scout project, Bronstad designed and built movable shelving units for two local food pantries. He organized a work crew to help him with this project.

The shelving units are at Chapel Heights Methodist Church pantry and Chippewa Valley Technical College’s food pantry.

Troop 107 is sponsored by St. Olaf Catholic Church under the leadership of former Scoutmaster Joel Woletz and current Scoutmaster Dean Christopherson.

NOMINATED: Christopher Kelly of Roberts was nominated for Phi Theta Kappa membership during Bismarck (N.D.) State College’s annual Student Recognition Ceremony.

Nominated students received a certificate and a paid induction fee into this international two-year college honor society.
