1 bottle of barbecue sauce
1 stick butter
2 packets Italian seasoning
Dash of basil
14 chicken drumsticks
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. (You will use grill a little later). In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in Italian seasoning, basil and barbecue sauce. Bring to a boil. Set half of sauce aside. Dip drumsticks generously into one half of the sauce mixture and place in a 9-by-13-inch pan.
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, and preheat grill on medium-low halfway through baking process. Remove drumsticks from oven and dunk them into the reserved sauce before placing them on heated grill. Grill for an additional 15 to 20 minutes.
Note: You can fully cook the chicken in the oven and omit the grilling step if preferred. Just increase baking time to 45 minutes or until chicken is done. To make a hot wing variation, add one bottle of hot sauce and substitute wings for drumsticks.
