Memorial Day weekend is just ahead, and many of us will pause to remember those who sacrificed their lives for our country.
Thank you to the military men and women who are serving or who have served in the past, especially those who gave their lives for our country, and thank you to their families. Your time, commitment and sacrifice cannot be measured, and words alone cannot express my gratitude.

The extended holiday weekend has also become synonymous with gatherings of friends and family. It is often looked at as an unofficial kickoff to summer, so if the weather cooperates, outside gatherings are a must. Gatherings call for food, so be prepared to cook up some picnic-type dishes or yummy potluck dishes to treat your friends and family.
Don’t forget about the beverages. Grilling out or picnicking in the hopefully warm late-May weather will call for thirst-quenching, family-friendly drinks.
I’m keeping my comments short this week to allow for more room for the food and beverage recipes I want to share. Enjoy the weekend. Enjoy time with special people, and take a moment to remember those who gave their lives for our freedom.
